A community partnership between

WALK CASHIERS is a community campaign initiated by the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce, Jackson County, and Vision Cashiers. The collaboration has taken on the significant role of advancing the Cashiers Greenway Ramble.
This initiative will transform Cashiers into a walkable community with a five-mile network of pathways, sidewalks, boardwalks and public spaces. It will connect residents and visitors to the core of Cashiers, bringing us together.
The starting point for the revitalized Cashiers Greenway Ramble was the original Cashiers Walking Trail, the brainchild of local merchant Bob Dews in the mid-2000s. Vision Cashiers took on the walkability project in 2018 and officially partnered with Jackson County and Cashiers Chamber of Commerce in 2023.
The WALK CASHIERS initiative is improving the original trail by repaving and widening sections. It is also making Cashiers a “smart village” by adding fiber internet and dark sky compliant lighting throughout. Native plants and local art will be thoughtfully installed along the way to soften and add interest to the hard surfaces.

A one mile loop opened in July of 2024. Over the winter, another significant portion opened running through The Village Green, which they own and operate. Families with young children will find the StoryWalk ® in this section.
PHASES 2 and 3 to open by end of 2025.
Phase 2, under construction, runs north along Slab Town Road and includes a boardwalk leading through a lovely, shaded glade. This portion ends at the sidewalk along Highway 64 leading back to the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce.
Phase 3 will add WALK CASHIERS signature improvements to the existing sidewalks along Frank Allen Road, past the Cashiers Library, and leading to Highway 107. It also adds a significant portion along Cashiers Lake Road, including beautiful landscaping, lighting and benches. These new portions will increase enhanced walkability in Cashiers to a total of 3.5 miles.
